Traveling to Cagayan De Oro, Philippines soon? Are you asking yourself where to stay in CDO? I highly recommend Seda Centrio!

The Short of It
My family and I went to CDO recently for one whole week to attend a family reunion. Many of our relatives had rooms for us ready, so my parents and sister stayed with them. But I opted to stay at business hostels near the downtown area because I needed to work. I had to be somewhere with reliable and fast internet, plus a quiet place for writing and meetings.
So, I had the opportunity to stay at Seda Centrio for 2 nights and 3 days, and it was such a great experience! Right from the first night, they went above and beyond. Check-in was smooth, all of the staff were helpful and courteous, and every morsel of food I’ve eaten there was delicious and filling. Best of all, I was able to do my work smoothly. And since its location is near our relatives’ residences, I was able to easily attend the gatherings after work.
Overall, it was an amazing stay and if ever you will be in CDO soon and want somewhere truly comfortable to stay, Seda Centrio is the place to be!

Luxurious Premier Room
I had the opportunity to stay at a Premier Room. What this means is that I get this one super spacious bedroom all to myself. Sleeping on that bed was like sleeping on a massive chunk of cloud. Typically, that king bed is good for two people, but I was alone there so I got all of the 4 pillows, yay! I always long for more pillows when I travel and this time, I wasn’t disappointed
And get this, you guys! The room has a small kitchen complete with microwave oven, fully-stocked mini fridge, water heater, and tea and coffee supplies. I appreciated that they had coffee, and black as well as green tea to perk you up. Meanwhile, if you want to relax, there’s chamomile tea.
Beautiful Bathroom
When I stepped into the bathroom, I was impressed. If I did not bring my own toiletry kit, I wouldn’t have a problem in that bathroom. Aside from the usual shampoo, conditioner, and soap – they also provided a dental kit (toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss), shaving kit (for male guests), and a vanity kit (shower cap and cotton pads).
The bathroom’s mirror is huge and they also had this tiny round mirror on the side that you can adjust for better position. One side of it even magnifies so you can see clearly what you’re doing when applying makeup or shaving. A blowdryer was also provided.
The toilet is high-quality and functions smoothly. There were tissue rolls aplenty. As for the shower, it was heavenly. After a long and icky day, it is always great to take a nice, long hot shower. The room also came with a bathrobe and guest slippers for total comfort.
Extra Amenities
To give their guests a truly wonderful experience, this 4-star business hotel also provided a flat iron and ironing board within the premier room. There was also a desk and comfortable office chair. And if a whole family is booked, the premier room actually connects to a double room. So, there is enough space for parents and kids.
What I really appreciated was the fact that I got a surprise treat on night one. I went out early that evening to mingle with my relatives. When I came back late at night, I got this big plate with a variety of delish pastries. On it was a message: Welcome home. Awww, that was so sweet indeed!
Internet: No Complaints
Internet speed is often an issue wherever you go in the Philippines, which can be quite problematic for me considering the nature of my work. So, I was really happy that I encountered no problems with the internet during my stay in Seda Centrio.
I was able to do voice and video calls without a problem. When I needed to wind down, I was able to stream Netflix and my anime shows without a hitch. Two thumbs up!
Exclusive and Quiet Executive Lounge
Guests checked into a Premier Room have access to the Executive Lounge on the 14th floor. While Seda Centrio has a huge restaurant on the 4th Floor, you can also take your meals at the Executive Lounge. Unlimited afternoon tea and evening cocktails are also offered there.
That area was my next favorite place inside the hotel (the bedroom is, of course, the first). It was spacious enough and had a great view of the surroundings, courtesy of the wall-to-wall glass windows. The best part, there was barely anyone there and I really felt it was exclusive. This was superb because I needed some quiet space to do my work.
I also ate my breakfast there and on the second morning, my family joined me. We all enjoyed that space immensely.
Pool Perfect for Relaxing
Now, if you’ve been working the whole day and just want to unwind for a bit, you need not go far. Just go down to the 4th Level to swim in Seda Centrio’s pool. They had a standard one for adults and a small round pool for kids. Yeah, even if this hotel is billed as a business hotel, it can actually cater to families without a problem at all.
When my father traveled to a neighboring town to see some more relatives, my mother, sister, and I took the opportunity to relax at the pool. We were lucky enough to have it all to ourselves that time and we definitely enjoyed ourselves.
The hotel gym is right next to the pool, by the way. So, yeah, if you’re looking for a place to work out, the hotel has got you covered.
Misto: Seda Centrio’s Restaurant
There is one huge restaurant within Seda Centrio’s premises and it is called Misto. A lot of delicious dishes were on the a-la-carte menu. Servings are large and will definitely give you value for your money.
Misto also has themed buffets from time-to-time, usually towards the weekend. I was lucky enough to be there in time for an international-themed buffet. At this time, my family has gone back to Cebu and I was left in CDO since I still needed to get to Bacolod from there for a friend’s wedding.
To enjoy the buffet, I invited my aunt who is actually just a few years older than me. Both of us were wowed by the selection. There were meat dishes (grilled and more) and a giant Tanguige (fish). Vegetarians also have a lot to choose from at the salad bar. The dessert section was great as well.
At the end of the dinner, both of us were jolly full!
